HONG KONG ILLUMINATED: EXPORTING LYON'S FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS!
From 18 - 20 November 2016, the city of Hong Kong will launch the HONG KONG FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS, an event which was inspired by Lyon’s very own festival! What a fabulous way to promote Lyon’s expertise on an international scale.
Lyon inspires an international event
Over three days, the streets of Honk Kong will shine with light installations inspired by those of Lyon’s very own festival. This festival will offer its inhabitants and visitors a unique show.
This is the first ever festival of its kind in Hong Kong and it is sure to delight the city’s inhabitants and visitors as the city’s culture and heritage are revealed a new light!
The festival will illuminate the city with a series of images that will be projected onto emblematic monuments and buildings.
Jeffrey Lam, President of the events and evaluation committee:
“We are delighted to support the very first Hong Kong Festival of Lights, which will be a blend of arts, culture and entertainment. The history and culture of Hong Kong will be enhanced by light projected onto various selected monuments. I believe this event will attract both a local and international audience and will become one of the highlights of the Hong Kong calendar!”
The official launch of the Hong Kong Festival of Lights took place on 21 July, during a press conference attended by the various organisers as well as Lionel Flasseur, Director of the ONLYLYON programme.
This event is sponsored by Mega Events Fund and The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
